ABSTRACT:
During 2007, the MDM Institute conducted a multi-client survey of early adopters and evaluators of Data Governance processes and methods across a broad range of master data management (MDM) projects. Based on an increasing dictate for process rigor regarding governance of customer data, and increasing recognition of the necessity to treat Data Governance as a prerequisite for large scale or enterprise MDM programs, Global 5000 enterprises are now recognizing the opportunity to take a more strategic view of Data Governance. Market demand for "Data Governance accelerators" will explode during 2008 as most of the mega vendors and even the best-of-breed vendors struggle to deliver integration between the people and process side of the equation with the technology side.
